TFL offers two new beamhouse products
TFL has launched two new products for the beamhouse: Pellvit IS-B, a new multifunctional soaking system for all hides and skins, and Oropon for bating.
TFL launched its Pellvit IS-A, a multifunctional soaking agent for all hides and skins that was particularly effective for greasy hides, two years ago. Following the market success of Pellvit IS-A, the company has now launched this new soaking agent Pellvit IS-B.
The Pellvit IS technology is a group of enzyme-free products that mimic the effect of enzymes, but are not as sensitive to the degree of deterioration of the hides or skins or to climate conditions. It is based on special inorganic alkali, surfactants and bactericides, thus providing a one-product solution. The system is said to provide a good soaking effect keeping the hide surface free of grease.
According to TFL, Pellvit IS stabilises bellies and flanks to mechanical action in soaking and liming which results in fuller and tighter bellies. In addition the swelling in liming is better regulated leading to less growth in neck and bellies thus improving the lay.
Oropron offers bating technology aimed at optimising the usable area, which TFL developed in reaction to the changes in hide quality, preservation and customer demands that have been seen over the past 15-20 years. Cattle are being raised faster and the animals reach maturity at an earlier age, which leaves the collagen structure with fewer crosslinks and therefore more sensitive. The tanner faces problems with looser grain and emptier flanks and as tanneries are under cost pressure they therefore have to expand the usable area of the hide.
The latest Innovation regarding the Oropron range is Oropron WT for bating wet-blue as well as wet-white. It is said to improve the yield: by relaxing the hide without making it loose, whilst increasing the area yield without negatively affecting the cutting yield.
