French luxury goods retailer Hermes International SA has reported sales of €324.8 million in the first quarter,  a 3.3% increase compared with 2004, however, sales of leather goods showed a far greater rise, increasing  an impressive 9% to reach €129.2 million for the period.

In other areas, silk sales increased 3.6% to €36.7m, clothing and accessories rose 7.2%.
