Bangladesh leather exports miss target

Bangladesh's Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) has reported that the country's export earnings during the first nine months of the current fiscal year July-March 2005 registered a 12.47% growth compared with the same period in the previous year.

 

Statistics released by the EPB show that during the July 2004 to March 2005 the country earned $6.09 billion from exports, however, this was in fact 1.82% lower than the target of $6.21 billion.

 

In March, leather and leather products earned $159 million during the period against $147 million of the same period in 2003-04 fiscal. The target was $167 million.
