New York-based athletic retailer, Foot Locker Inc, is providing 68,500 pairs of athletic footwear to the Save the Children relief effort in Banda Aceh, Indonesia. The product was shipped via P&O Nedlloyd, who donated the ocean transportation in support of this worthy cause.

''We were clearly shocked and saddened by the tsunami disaster that has severely impacted so many people, particularly in the coastal areas of the Indian Ocean,'' stated Matthew D. Serra, chief executive officer and chairman of Foot Locker.

''Our company recognises its ongoing sense of responsibility of providing assistance, as needed, in the communities where we operate around the world. I am pleased that Rick Mina, president and CEO of Foot Locker, Inc. - U.S.A., and his team were able to arrange this partnership with Save the Children and P&O Nedlloyd to assist with these relief efforts.''
