President and CEO of America’s third largest beef and pork processor, Swift and Co., John Simons, has resigned from the company. Personal reasons were said to have prompted his decision to resign.

 

Dennis Henley, president of Swift's North American Red Meat division, and Danny Herron, executive vice president and chief financial officer, will carry out Simon’s duties until a replacement is found.

 

Swift employs over 20,000 people in the USA and Australia and produced $9.9 billion in sales in 2004.
