The German testing and research institute, PFI, based in Pirmasens, Germany is set to open for business in China at the beginning of May. Working with the Hohenstein Instiute, PFI will establish two sales offices, one in Shanghai and one in Guangzhou. PFI specialises in testing shoes and shoe materials, whilst the Hohenstein Institute focuses on textiles.
The service in China will offer pre-shipment inspections for shoes and textiles alongside consulting services. PFI will also sell its technology-oriented measuring equipment, designed by PFI’s engineers, to customers in China. The institute plans to establish a fully functional testing laboratory for a full range of chemical and physical tests in 2006.
