The figures released showed that in 2004 finished leather goods exports reached $26.75 billion (+17%), accounting for some 88.7% of the total export within the leather industry. Whilst raw material and machinery were the biggest imports, they only amounted to $3.39 billion, although this was an increase of 26% over 2003.
