30/03/2005

The annual Fur and Fashion Frankfurt Show took place March 9 to 12, 2005 and attracted a great deal of foreign interest, with over 45% of visitors coming from overseas. A total of 7,781 visitors attended the show that showcased fur and leathers for autumn/winter 2006 season.

130 exhibitors from 20 countries displayed their latest products, with fur wholesalers and garment makers making up the largest contingent. Fur refiners, accessory makers, and machinery and tool manufacturers were also present amongst the exhibitors.

According to an initial poll of visitors and exhibitors held by the show’s organisers at the close of the event, fur wholesalers were particularly pleased with sales. Demand for pelts was said to be good, particularly for refined and dyed hides, which are being touted as the next big thing for winter 2005/2006.
