Vietnam’s exports to Japan reach nearly $112 million in 2004

Vietnam’s Trade Ministry has released figures for 2004 which show leather and footwear exports to Japan reached JPY 12 billion ($111,7  million) and increased its market share to 3.43%, placing the country among the three largest exporters to the country after China and Italy.

Leather, sport and canvas shoes and sandals with soles made of leather, rubber and plastic are among Japan’s most popular choices.

Vietnam hopes to move up from its current position in 2005 by focusing on market research to identify the full range of export opportunities Japanese market has to offer.
