Rohm and Haas sales reach $7.3 billion
American specialty chemical company, Rohm and Haas, has announced that sales in 2004 reached $7.3 billion, a 14% increase compared with 2003 and the second consecutive year of double digit sales growth.
The company saw growth in all of its key markets, across all four regions.
Earnings of $497 million showed a substantial improvement over 2003’s results, which the company attributed to higher demand, higher pricing, a weak dollar, and efficient operations.
Chairman of Rohm and Haas, Raj Gupta, commented, ”We enter 2005 with an optimism that we will continue to grow and take advantage of our geographic reach to serve our customers wherever they need us; our commitment to innovation will also enable us to bring new and exciting products to the marketplace. We will generate improved earnings performance from this growth due to our continued focus on process improvements and efficiencies that benefit both our customers and stockholders. The world around us is ever-changing. However, our company is a nimble, customer-focused organisation that will meet these challenges and deliver sustained, profitable performance.”
Rohm and Haas supplies chemicals for the building and construction sector; electronic devices, computers, hardware and communications equipment ; packaging; household and personal care products; automotive; paper; retail food and hypermarket; and pharmaceutical industries.
