American tannery files for bankruptcy

Leather goods manufacturer, The Irving Tannery Company, based in Maine, USA has filed bankruptcy papers due to liquidity problems.

 

The company, established in 1925, supplies footwear, handbag, and the personal leather good industries and employs some 250 staff in the town of Hartland. It is currently looking for investors or buyers to save the company from closure. Irving has already filed for bankruptcy once before, in 2001.
