Uproar in Moscow after Chinese warehouse raided
Chinese footwear exporters have made a formal complaint to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign affairs following an incident in which Russian officials seized over 100 containers of leather footwear valued at approximately $9.7 million.
The raids took place on March 13 in a southern district of Moscow, which houses many warehouses owned by foreign merchants. Officials raided the depot containing goods belonging to some 20 Chinese exporters, claiming that the owners were not in possession of the required customs documentation.
