Briggs Industrial Footwear re-launches in Ghana

09/03/2005

Briggs Industrial Footwear, UK-base provider of industrial safety footwear, has re-launched its industrial safety footwear on the Ghanaian market. The company believes many workers in Ghana are exposed to unnecessary dangers by lacking adequate protective clothing. It has urged industries in the country to supply their employees with better footwear in a bid to prevent injury and its resultant costs.

During the re-launch a view has been expressed that many workers in Ghana sustain injuries, disease or even die in the course of their work because of unsafe conditions and national occupational safety health laws are weak and not properly enforced.

Briggs Industrial Footwear, established in 1944, produces non-metallic, non-slip, firemen's, miners' and reflective footwear. The specialist products cater for different environments, including miners' boots with leather uppers, breathable linings with arch support and heat resistant soles of up to 300°C.
