Howe Leather to manufacture in Slovakia

Howe Leather, Australian manufacturer of leather products, will use a plant in Kosice, Slovakia, for its production of leather parts for the Europe’s automotive industry. Production will begin in May employing an estimated 60 people.

 

The firm was attracted to Slovakia by The Centre for Economic Development at US Steel in Kosice and labour costs that are six times lower than those in Australia. The company expects to develop its production with time and take on 300 employees.

 

Howe Leather supplies some of the major car makers including BMW, Ford, GMH, Honda, Mitsubishi, General Motors, Nissan Toyota and Subaru.
