STR, which has a UKAS-approved laboratory for the testing of textiles and garments in Turkey, has introduced a new 48-hour turnaround service on testing. The service is said to include a wide range of chemical and physical tests to measure product performance and legal compliance. This new, faster service has been introduced in an attempt to meet the demands of the industry as trans-seasonal collections require product to reach the retailers more quickly than ever.
“Standard turnaround in the industry is three to four days and few labs can improve upon that, even for a premium price, whereas our lab in Istanbul now guarantees a 48 hour turnaround as standard,” commented STR’s director of European operations, Ian Saunderson.
STR’s laboratory in Istanbul employs 36 staff and offers testing services across a wide spectrum of products including leather goods, textiles, garments and even toys.
