The Board of Management of Lanxess AG, the German-based chemical company which was formerly part of the Bayer Group, has appointed Dr. Jörg Strassburger (40) to be the new senior Lanxess representative for India and managing director of Lanxess India Private Limited. Strassburger takes up his new position in March. His predecessor, Raj Narayanan (42), is leaving the company at his own request.

Strassburger has been head of the group function corporate at Lanxess AG since July 1, 2004. His successor in Leverkusen will be announced in the near future. Strassburger has a degree in economics and a doctorate in chemistry. Until mid-2004 Strassburger was head of Strategic Planning at Bayer Material Science.
