Net income rose 42.3% to $8.6 million versus net income of $6.0 million a year ago. Gross profit increased to $38.7 million, or 29.2% of sales, from $32.8 million or 30.9% of sales, for the same period last year, primarily due to the $18.1 million of increased shipments to the US military in 2004.
