Gerber Technology launches enhanced software

Gerber Technology has launched a new version of its CutWorks software for its Taurus XM and XD leather cutters, DCS 1500, 2500 and 3500 single-ply, as well as multi-ply GERBERcutters.

This newest version software is said to deliver more comprehensive production data and ease of use. New features include the ability to import AccuMark markers directly into CutWorks; improved “locate markings” functionality for Taurus users to reduce hide marking time, consumable marking materials, and automatic nesting time; dynamic work order queuing; a “print kit groups feature” for colour print out of kitting groups for easier part identification for faster and more accurate part bundling and kitting; and improved error and service logging.

CutWorks Version 5.1 also is also said to provide managers with comprehensive production data on every hide cut, including, among other things, production output and nesting yields. As an additional benefit, the system calculates total hide area enabling manufacturers to compare the system’s scanned hide area to the area reported by the supplier, and identify any variances between the two.

“CutWorks Version 5.1 represents the next generation of Gerber software designed to deliver the features and capabilities our customers need to be successful,” says Ron Ellis, Gerber’s product manager for plotters/peripherals/control systems. “We understand the challenges manufacturers are facing in industrial markets like furniture, transportation, technical textiles and leather manufacturing and have enhanced CutWorks to better meet those challenges.”
