The government has already acquired 200 acres of land to establish the park at an estimated cost of $48 million. The project has been implemented in order to relocate the tanneries from Hazaribagh to Savar. 43% of the total cost of the park will be covered by the government, whilst the remaining 57% will be raised through loans to tanners.
A Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP), costing about $1.3 million, will be built to reduce the amount of heavy metals released in effluent. Facilities such as water, gas, and electricity supply, and solid waste management system are to be provided by the government free of cost under the terms of the project.
