Czech meat output down 8.8% in 2004
Czech meat output fell by 8.8% to 473,623 tonnes in 2004 compared to 2003, according to the Czech Statistical Office (CSU). The figures, excluding poultry meat output, were affected by lower output of both beef and pork.
Beef production, including veal, amounted to 96,660 tonnes last year, a drop of 10.65 whilst pork output slid by 8.4% to 376,723 tonnes.
Milk purchases by dairies were down by 1.4% at almost 2.5 billion litres in 2004.
