Wolverine’s shoe design and inspection centre moves to China

American shoe brand, Wolverine recently decided to move its shoe design and quality inspection centre out of Taiwan and into Zhuhai city, China.

 

The company said that the decision was made in order to cut costs and on the basis that China’s shoe-making technology has advanced in recent times. Following this decision, many of the company’s major suppliers in Taiwan, such as Pou Chen, will also moves their design and inspection centres to their factories in mainland China in order to secure continuing orders from Wolverine. Paiho, a key accessory supplier of Wolverine, has already shifted a Wolverine order worth  $3.7 million  to its factory in Dongguan, China.
