American automotive leather supplier, GST AutoLeather, has signed a letter of intent to enter into a long-term strategic agreement with Mexican company, Cueros Industrializados del Bajio, S.A. de C.V. (“Cuinba”), under which Cuinba will provide GST with re-tanning and other services, and cooperate in developing technology.

This new relationship will enable GST to continue to further our position as North America's lowest cost, highest quality supplier of automotive leather trim,” said Dennis Hiller, president and CEO of GST AutoLeather. “In the time I have become acquainted with Cuinba, I have been very impressed with the quality of their management team. Much credit should be given to Cuinba's owner Don Jorge Plasencia for having the vision to recruit and invest in a very experienced leadership group. Cuinba is a privately-owned company based in Leon, Mexico, and is one of the fastest growing automotive leather suppliers within the NAFTA region and China.
