Pony & Snoop Dogg Present Doggy Biscuitz

14/01/2005

Pony International, a major modern fashion performance brand, has announced its partnership with entertainment and pop cultural icon Snoop Dogg for the development and production of the Snoop Dogg Doggy Biscuitz footwear collection. The line is a fusion of Snoop's signature west coast style with classic Pony design. The Doggy Biscuitz name comes from Snoop himself who calls his shoes ‘biscuits.’

The Doggy Biscuitz line consists of: Snoopadoopa - for active life and everyday wear, Snoopafly - athletic/basketball inspired, Snoopalicious - casual shoe for business meetings and dressy occasions, and the Snoopaslide - the bandana print slipper for lounging around the house. All shoe boxes for the line feature a perforated Snoop silhouette that can be popped out and used as a customised stencil and the sock liner, out-sole and tissue paper boast bandana art. The entire product collection is synonymous with Snoop's famed Long Beach, California street culture.

Consistent with the plan of black being the first released colour of each shoe, a limited run (5,000 pairs worldwide) of the all black canvas Snoopadoopa, the Doggy Biscuit's signature shoe was released in December 2004. The complete Doggy Biscuitz collection will hit retailers worldwide in March 2005.

Snoop Dogg was born Calvin Broadus in Long Beach, CA. His rise to fame began in 1993 with the release of his debut album Doggystyle. Fuelled by the rapper's street credentials and associations, he is widely recognized as one of the world's most successful rap artist and entertainers.

Pony was founded in 1972 and became an athletic brand worn by names like Wilt Chamberlain, Pele, Joe Frazier, Earl Campbell, John Havlicek, Dan Marino, Reggie Jackson and Larry Holmes. In March 2003 Global Brand Marketing, Inc. acquired a majority interest in Pony International from entertainment management agency The Firm.
