Lectra acquires Humantec
Producer of software and hardware dedicated to the textiles, leather and soft materials industries, Lectra, has acquired German-based leather cutting systems specialist Humantec Industriesysteme GmbH and its US-based sister company Humantec Systems, Inc. for €2.9 million cash and 330,000 Lectra shares.

Humantec, established in 1993, has developed several core competencies in leather cutting systems and focuses on three market segments: automotive seating and interiors, furniture, and industrial textiles. Lectra, meanwhile, derives 40% of its revenues from the automotive, aerospace, marine, and furniture industries. With this acquisition it is hoped that with Humantec’s cutting systems combined with Lectra’s high-end Total Leather Solution, the company will be able to offer the broadest product offering on the market.
