China’s shoe exports to Eurasia increase 37%

28/12/2004

Officials at Huoerguosi port in the Xinjang province of China have reported that shoe exports to Eurasian countries such as Kazakstan, Kirghizia, and Russia have increased by 37.3% in the nine months January to November 2004 compared with the same period in 2003. By the end of November, 80 million pairs of shoes had been exported with a value of $130 million.

This increase has been attributed to a larger number of orders being placed. Officials stated that the size of orders being exported has remained unchanged, but the number of consignments has increased.
