Sales of Famous Footwear and Naturalizer up in November
Brown Shoe Company Inc. has published sales for its Famous Footwear and Naturalizer Retail operations for four weeks ended November 27, 2004. Sales at Famous Footwear were $79.3 million against $74.6 million for the same period of 2003. Same-store sales were up by 2.1%. Sales at Brown Shoe’s Naturalizer division were $17.2 million in November, compared to $16.4 for the same four weeks of last year. Same-store sales were down by 0.9%.
Year-on-year sales at Famous Footwear reached $932.9 million compared to $906.2 million in the same 43-week period of 2003. Naturalizer’s sales for the 43-week period were $160.7 compared to $158.7 million for the same period last year. Same-store sales were down by 1.5%.
Famous Footwear is a 928-store chain whilst Naturalizer Retail is a 381-store chain selling the Naturalizer brand of women’s footwear in the
