PTA urges help for exporters
The chairman of the Pakistan Tanners’ Association, Khawaja M. Yousef has spoken out about the need to raise awareness amongst exporters and industrialists about the impact that can be expected from January 1, 2005, when the WTO regime on quotas comes into force.
He referred to a request made to the Minister of Commerce for widespread seminars and workshops to run – especially for those in the leather industry – to improve the awareness of the possible positive and negative implications of the WTO ruling, saying that without comprehensive knowledge of the WTO conditions exporters could find their businesses in jeopardy.
