Polish customs officers have intercepted a large delivery of counterfeit garments and footwear of well known brands such as Reebok, Adidas and Versace at the Polish-Belarus border point in Bobrowniki.

The goods were being transported from a warehouse in Belarus and aimed to reach distributors in the Silesian district. The goods were found in seven trucks carrying over 120 tonnes of total cargo weight. The declared value of the total consignment amounted to over 1 million dollars.

A detailed check of the consignment lasted two days and representatives of the companies affected have been asked to asses the total value of the goods. According to Mariusz Kowalczyk, customs district officer, it was the biggest ever seizure of counterfeit garments and footwear on the eastern border.
