Pakistan exports to Russia rise 500%

Pakistan’s exports to Russia have increased by a staggering 500% according to statistics produced by Pakistan’s Export Promotion Bureau (EPB). Exports to Russia amounted to $3.4 million for the period 1999-2000 but have risen to $20.49 million in 2003-2004.

 

Not all industries have seen an increase in exports to the Russian Federation but certain sectors have shown a marked increase in the volume of goods, including leather goods and sports goods. Cotton fabrics exports increased $0.148 million to $ 5.676 million, sports goods rose from $ 0.767 million to $3.732 million – an increase of $2.965 million, and leather clothing exports rose by $1.401 million to $1.664 million compared with just $263,000 in the previous year.
