Despite a great deal of initial interest sparked by talk of a new fair, Starter by MIDEC, it seems that too few people were willing to make a firm commitment to the show. SEPIC has, therefore, decided to postpone its launch originally planned for the end of January 2005.

It is believed that although companies were genuinely interested in the show some exhibitors struggle to prepare their autumn/winter range for footwear early enough and also with the current economic climate few people are willing to take a financial risk. This hesitation on the part of the prospective exhibitors has led to the postponement of this year’s show. The date for the fair has been put back to January 2006 in order to re-assess the show’s strategy.
