The number of North American and European visitors at this year’s Fashion Access fair in Hong Kong increased by 45% compared with 2003. The show that closed on October 8, has been heralded a great success by organisers who welcomed a total of 7,959 international visitors from 79 countries at the three-day show. Those attending were able to see an array of the latest handbags, footwear, leather garments and luggage. Exhibitors also offered visitors an insight into the upcoming trends in colours and materials.

Over 50% of visitors to the show were from overseas, with the numbers from North America increasing by 46.9% and Europe 41.3%. Particularly large increases were noted in the number of visitors from the United Kingdom, Canada, and the USA which increased by 87.6%, 57.38%, and 36.45% respectively. Visitors from mainland China, however, continue to make up the largest contingent.
