TFL presents new range for Autumn/Winter 2005/2006

TFL’s Wet-End and Finishing Competence Centres in Italy have developed a full range of trendy articles for autumn/winter 2005/2006. Introduced by M. Perlini and F. Pastore the new items aim to provide innovation and higher quality finishes.

While the focus of development was on the wet-end, the purpose was to achieve strong repolishing and reactivity with vegetable tanning and retanning. TFL claims to have achieved this with Escova, a natural, classical vegetable calf leather, combined with a high ironing effect.

Another new product is the Boxer line, an updated version of former retanning techniques. This makes extra soft leatherwear and footwear with a boxed finish that does not age.

Berry was created using indigo – the dye used for colouring jeans – to create a leather that resembles jeans. Drum-dried leather with top dyeing keeps the light section to offset the grain and imitate jeans. Negative printing is used to age the leather artificially.

Tuareg is composed of a mixture of Carnauba flakes such as Oxidal used with a polyurethane effect to create a look that resembles the typical mould of ageing wood.
