US Hide, Skin and Leather Association celebrates 25th anniversary
The US Hide, Skin and Leather Association celebrated it 25th anniversary with a host of high profile speakers, at the organisation’s annual convention held in
Speakers from the USDA included Under Secretary, Dr Jim Butler; Director of Dairy Livestock and Poultry Division of Foreign Agricultural Service, Howard Wetzel; and Dr Kristen Schmitz from the Animal, Plant Health and Inspection Service (APHIS). All gave informative speeches on issues that are currently relevant to today’s hide market.
The association took the opportunity to honour the organisation’s chairmen of the past 25 years and also to make several new appointments to the board of directors. Barbara Grodzins of Western Hide Inc., Mike Whalen of Griffin Industries, and Steve Cunningham of National By-Products Inc. were elected to the board for a three-year term.
