The 4th China (Shiling) Leather Goods Exhibition, organised jointly by the local government of Guangzhou and industry associations - including the China Light Industry Association, the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA), and the China Plastic Industry Association - will be held November 9-11 in Shiling town, Guangzhou. There will be around 800 stands and most of these have already been reserved. Companies from Italy, France, Japan will participate in the exhibition and organisers have announced that the CLIA will hold a design competition called “Genuine Leather Mark” during the exhibition.
With over 30 years of history in the leather sector, Shiling has 2,700 leather goods factories and has become the most important leather goods manufacturing area in Guangdong. In 2003, Shiling produced about 400 million pieces of leather goods to a value of $610 million, accounting for 60% of the total leather goods output in Guangdong province.
The CLIA will also be present at the 6th China Fur Exhibition in
Zhe Jiang Province November 5-7 and the Lineapelle Asia Exhibition in Guangzhou December 1-3.
