Deckers Outdoor, a producer of high performance outdoor and casual footwear, has announced record results for the third quarter of the year. Reporting a sales increase of 124% compared with the same period in 2003, the company whose brands include Teva, Simple, and UGG generated $55.8 million in net sales.
Including sales from the wholesale, internet, and catalogue sales, Teva sales for the third quarter increased 32% to $11.9 million; UGG soared from $14.1 million last year to $39.2 million for 2004; Simple sales, however, showed the largest rise, with sales increasing 165% to reach $4.6 million, up from $1.8 million in 2003.
For the nine months ended September 30, 2004, Deckers Outdoor recorded net sales of $140.6 million an increase of 65% on the $85.3 million recorded in the same period last year.
“After a record spring season, Teva’s robust performance continued into the fall, primarily driven by strong demand for our core sandal category as well as our expanded closed-toe offering,” said chairman and CEO, Douglas Otto. “Our UGG business remains very strong as sales of all styles, including our classic boots, slippers and fall collection continue to perform well.”
