Stahl trains technicians in Thailand

25/10/2004

A training course - led by Peter Jessop, Leather Finish Liaison Manager at Stahl International - was held in Bangkok recently. The course gave Thai technicians the opportunity to learn the latest skills for upgrading leathers and making them suitable for a wide range of applications such as furniture, automotive, fashion, shoe upper, and white sports leather.

Organised by the Thai Tanning Industry Association under a government grant, the aim was to make the participants aware of and capable of producing leathers to meet global standards for export. Those attending were invited to bring samples of their own leather, so that they could practise newly acquired skills in the practical sessions of the course. The course included both theory and practical sessions on colour-matching and the various forms of leather finish application.

A second course will take place at which students will focus on fashion leathers.
