BASF appoints new head of leather NAFTA as Sattler moves

On October 1, 2004 Thomas Sattler was appointed head of BASF regional business unit Performance for Leather Europe, headquartered in Ludwigshafen, Germany. He is replacing Eckart Stein who has undertaken new responsibilities.

 

Thomas Sattler (40) joined BASF in 1985. Having worked in marketing and management roles in Great Britain, Mexico and Colombia, in 1997 he joined BASF Argentina S.A. as division manager. From 2001 he was in charge of the regional business unit Performance Chemicals for Leather NAFTA.

 

Ron Joseph Levin (38) has succeeded Thomas Sattler and will be based in Charlotte, USA. He joined the company in 1990 as a product manager. In 2002 he took over management of Strategic Planning, Functional Polymers North America.
