This item highlights another niche market for leathergoods: guitar shoulder straps. Italia Straps – formerly part of the Moody Straps business – has signed an endorsement deal with the band of the moment on the country and western scene, Shiloh.
The band will make its first appearance since the deal was inked at the world famous Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville this week, where the members will all be wearing Italia leather straps.
“Each Italia Strap is handmade in California. When you purchase, our team of skilled craftsmen goes to work on your order…we don’t pull it out of a warehouse of inventory. Our proprietary design incorporates multiple layers of fine Italian leather and nappa suede for the ultimate in look, feel, and durability. Double-stitching provides extra strength for those with active playing styles. In addition, Italia straps don’t have any awkward hardware or buckles that can dig into your shoulder or scratch your favourite instrument,” said Michael Salermo, President of Italia Straps.
As the hottest band on the scene, the deal could mean an increase in business for Italia Straps as the hundreds of Shiloh fans practise on their own guitars waiting to get their big break.
