The Pontex Group has confirmed that it is to expand production of outsoles to meet demand. It is forecast that orders for Pontex products will increase by 50% next year after the company secured a lucrative deal with Nike to produce the brand’s outsoles for its high performance sports shoes.

The company is predicting that production volume will increase from $85.3 million to $122 million. In order to fulfil the orders resulting from this contract, Pontex is to invest $1.36 million in building a new facility in Guangzhou, on the site of one of the company’s former subcontractors, which Pontex has subsequently acquired.
