LaCrosse recalls two styles of work boots

15/10/2004

Portland-based LaCrosse Footwear, Inc., in cooperation with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSF), has recalled approximately 8,400 pairs of its Polar and Trailblazer work boots due to safety concerns. Consumers have been advised to stop using the boots immediately and will receive a store credit towards the purchase of a new pair of boots.

Although LaCrosse has not received reports of injuries it believes the protective toe cap on the boots may not provide sufficient impact and compression protection. This could result in crushing, bruising or other injury to the foot.

The boots were manufactured in China and sold in black or brown with the company name written on the side. The following style numbers can be found on the inside of the tongue of the boots: 693100, 00693100 and 466000. They were widely available for purchase between June 2002 and July 2004 at a price between $67 and $110.

LaCrosse Footwear has been providing performance footwear and apparel since 1897.
