In the short time since their introduction, Olcina’s Cangilones drums  are already making a big impact on the world’s leather industry, with over two hundred having been sold to date.

According to Joaquin Paez, - speaking to Leatherbiz at “Meet in Africa” in Addis Ababa - tanners are attracted by the large savings in chemical and water consumption. They are also impressed by the mechanical action based on gravity and the mass effects rather than the centrifugal force produced in a conventional drum.

Among the major bovine tanners who have purchased , or are trialling Cangilones are Ecco, Pittards, and SRL (Shanghai). A version for skins has now been developed and one Spanish tanner has already installed 17 vessels.
