Automotive leather boosts Wollsdorf Leder’s turnover

08/10/2004

Austrian leather manufacturer, Wollsdorf Leder has announced that turnover in the last financial year increased by 20%.

Automobile leather made a large contribution to this rise in turnover thanks to the company securing Toyota, Ferrari, Maserati, and Bentley as new customers. Wollsdorf is the largest worldwide manufacturer of leather steering wheel leather and its production has increased further, producing sufficient leather cut parts for 17,000 cars per day.

The market share in furniture leather in Germany also had a positive effect on the company’s turnover. This is partly attributed to the expanded number of colours available in the stock programme, which has been extended to 111.

Not only has Wollsdorf increased the company’s turnover, it has also increased its number of staff from 500 to 560. This recruitment is not only based on the figures for last year, as the scheduled turnover increase of 10% for this year has already been achieved.
