Ugandan company, Crane Shoes and Crafts Ltd, has launched a line of leather shoes produced locally.

"We appeal to Ugandans to be proud of our indigenous products. If you do not support our industry, we shall never grow" said Charles Nailala Naguyo of Crane shoes at the launch event.

Minister of State for Industry, Janet Namuyangu, also appealed to Ugandans to buy local products in order to support industrial growth. She also stressed the importance of adhering to quality standards of production when attempting to break through both the local and international market.

Crane Shoes and Crafts Ltd apart from footwear, also manufactures bags, belts, wallets and other crafts.
