Record numbers visit International Leather Week in Madrid

The 15th International Leather Week, which ran from September 24-26 in Madrid, reported a record number of foreign trade buyers. Visitors from outside of Spain now make up 15.8% of the total number in attendance. The event incorporated Modacalzado, the international footwear fair and Iberpiel Marroquinería the international leather goods fair which together attracted some 23,350 visitors.

 

During the three days of Modacalzado, some of the new trends included in the latest collections were showcased. These included: comfortable and sporty designs, dress shoes in stylised designs, adapted to the ergonomic features of the foot with a focus on platforms in order to maintain a feminine feel.

 

At Iberpiel Marroquinería, a medley of bags and accessories were on show incorporating elegance, functionality and the most avant-garde styles. These new styles were complemented with a variety of new shapes and colours, combining vivid shades with the more serene.
