Stacey Adams enters Indian market

10/09/2004

One of America’s largest footwear brands, Stacey Adams, has ventured into the Indian market. The company will produce and market its shoes in collaboration with Gratings India, a venture of Shoe Technik International Corporation.

Designed by Maurizio Bellini at its Italian studio, the brand will serve the formal, semi-formal and casual segments of leather footwear for men. The Indian market is currently inundated with synthetic quality leather and Stacey Adams will be one of few brands to offer genuine leather footwear at a competitive shelf-price.

Footwear will be available in two main design ranges. Customers will be able to choose from a wide range of colours and have their shoes styled according to individual needs and requirements.

Gratings India will manufacture the footwear using its Zam Zam and Crescent tanneries. With a reputation for select raw materials, expert processing and tanning, the organisation is the country’s largest exporter of finished leather.

Established in 1875, Stacey Adams is a popular brand in America with over a thousand retail outlets. Entering the Indian market is its first Asian initiative.
