The manufacturer, Parasol Inc. claim that it will revolutionise the recolouring of leather. Unlike existing products, it is a dye rather than a paint, which means that the end result is a crack-free finish in which the original grain is still visible.
The product bonds itself to the molecules of the leather and actually alters the pigmentation of it, rather than covering the original colour. Therefore, it is expected to reduce the frequency with which consumers re-upholster furniture and other items.
