India’s government praises foreign trade policy
The Indian government has recently announced the benefits of its Foreign Trade Policy to the exports of gems, jewellery, leather and footwear products.
The Policy is said to have contributed to a 3% rise of FOB value of exports thanks to the duty free entitlements of import trimmings, embellishments and footwear components for the leather industry. The other figure posted on the Government of India website highlights a 5% increase of FOB value of exports in duty free imports of specified items for the leather sector.
The Policy also includes the exemption of machinery and equipment for effluent treatment plants from customs duty.
