Green light for tannery zone in Pakistan

The Punjab government of Pakistan has finally sanctioned a Rs90 million  ($1.53 million) grant for the construction of Sialkot tannery zone near Sambrial in the east of country, according to the President of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Tahir Majeed Kapur

 

He claimed that the approval was given by the provincial government at a special meeting held in Lahore.

 

The project is to be completed with the active collaboration of the Sialkot business community.

 

The SCCI chief further said that the construction of tannery zone would be helpful in concentrating over 260 tanneries scattered in Sialkot and its outskirts into one area.
