Export trophies for leather industry announced in Pakistan
The Best Export Performance Trophy Award for Leather Garments was won by M/s. Leather Field of Sialkot having export of Rs.1,758 million (US$ 29.79 million).
M/s. Muhammad Shafi Tanneries of Karachi received the Best Export Performance Trophy Award for exports of finished Leather amounting to Rs. 1,696 million (US$ 28.74 million).
The award for best export of Leather Gloves was won by M/s. First American Corporation of
M/s. Royal Leather Industries of Lahore received the award for highest exports of Leather Furniture for exports worth Rs. 121 million (US$ 2.05 million).
M/s. Leather Connection of Lahore won the Best Export Performance Trophy Award for Leather belts having exports of Rs. 55 million (US$ 0.93 million).
The Special Merit Trophy Award for export of Leather Garments was won by M/s. Mahr Garments of Sialkot for exports totalling above Rs. 521 million (US$ 8.83 million), M/s. Kampala Industries of Sialkot won the Merit Trophy Award for exports of Fancy Gloves by exporting gloves worth Rs. 177 million (US$ 3 million). M/s. JMS Tradewell International of Sialkot received the Merit Trophy Award for exports of Motorcycle Leather Garments worth Rs. 173 million (US$ 2.93 million).
The chairman of the Pakistan Leather Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association, Mr Fawad Ijaz Khan, congratulated the eight winners, praising the companies on their achievement of increasing their exports during a bad year in the leather industry.
