Pakistan records leather exports drop in July 04

Pakistan has exported finished leather worth $17.932 million in July, the first month of the current financial year, a drop from $24.548 million in the previous month, according to Federal Bureau of Statistics.

 

Leather garments, leather gloves and other leather manufacturing accounted for $31.574 million and footwear for $4.825 million, compared to $42.015 million and $8.467 million respectively in June. This showed a decline of 26.95%, 24.85% and 43.01% in value across the three entities.

 

Total leather sector exports during July stood at $54.3310 million against $75.03 million in June. This too showed an overall decrease of 27.58% in export of leather finished products at the start of the new financial year.
